  • Is a midwife the same thing as a doula?

    A midwife is a medical professional that has specific training ot support a pregnant person prenatally, during labor, delivery, and postpartum. A midwife also has the skills and training to support people or families and pre-conception and lifelong reproductive health. When you think of going to a gynocologist during a breast exam, annual physical, pap smear or blood work, that’s also something a midwife can support you with.

    A doula provides guidance and support to the mother of a newborn baby. They are a trained professional who provides continuous physical, emotional and informational support to their client during and after childbirth.
